2025 padel ladder

The 2025 padel ladder is open to all members of the club and is free to enter. It runs from 1st January to 3rd November 2025. If you want to compete in the padel ladder, please read the ladder rules/guidelines below and then contact Gary or Josh.

General

  1. The 2025 ladder will run from 1st January to 3rd November 2025 and will run on a points award format. It is free to join the Ladder, but the teams must be members of North Costa Blanca Padel Club.
  2. Any teams entering the 2025 ladder will be placed within the ladder initially in alphabetic order with zero points awarded. New teams can join the ladder at any time throughout the year and will be added to the ladder with zero points.
  3. Should a team need to become unavailable for challenges (for example due to injury or travel) then they must inform the ladder admin team who will mark them as “unavailable for challenge”. During this period they cannot be challenged and will not be penalised any places in the ladder, They may be overtaken by teams below them accumulating points within the period they are “unavailable”
  4. There will be three Ladders: Men, Ladies and Mix. Players may enter both applicable ladders if they wish e.g. Men’s and Mixed or Ladies’ and Mixed ladders, and may have two entries per ladder with different playing partners.
  5. To be eligible for prizes in the 2025 ladders, the team must have competed in a minimum of 7 matches.
  6. Prizes will be awarded for the winners and runners up of the respective ladder final and to the team who has played most matches.
  7. The club will offer a discounted book of individual player court bookings for the ladder games which can be pre-purchased from the club, 8 games for €25. These reduced court fee vouchers may only be used for ladder games.

Challenges

  1. A team can challenge teams up to 5 places above or 3 places below them.
  2. Once a challenge is made the match must be played within 14 days.
  3. A challenge must be accepted within 48 hours, or if the dates and times are not acceptable, alternatives should be sent to the challengers within the 48 hours.
  4. If the challengers and challangees cannot come to an agreement on the dates and times the challenge becomes void.
  5. Teams may make up to two challenges simultaneously within a 14 day period. Once a challenge game is completed a further challenge may be made.
  6. Teams must not challenge each other in two consecutive challenges.
  7. Both teams must make reasonable adjustments to enable matches to be scheduled. The challenging team must offer at least 3 date/time options during the 14 days period which must include a weekend day, a weekday, and an evening option. Should the challangee not be able to agree on these dates and times they must send the same 3 options back to the challengers where they can take up the challenge. If the offered match times include these three day/time options and the teams are still unable to agree to a date and time within the 10 days period, Ladder Admin should be informed as soon as possible. Ladder Admin will review and confirm the challenge is void.
  8. If a team cannot schedule a date for a challenge 3 times in a row, then that team shall drop one place in the padel ladder ranking. If a team is unable to accept a challenge due to injury or absence then Ladder Admin should be informed and the team can be marked “Unavailable For Challenges”.
  9. Points are awarded for the game, the points awarded for a win are as follows;
    1. 1 point for winning a set
    2. 1 point for winning the match overall
  10. In the event of a match being cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, the match will be cancelled by the Ladder Admin, and teams are allowed to make or accept a new challenge.
  11. Challenges should be responded to as quickly as possible so that alternative challenges can be made if the original challenge cannot be completed.
  12. Once a game has been agreed and scheduled it cannot be re arranged or cancelled unless both teams can find a suitable time within the original 14 days otherwise the team that cannot make the match forfeit the challenge and the other team will be awarded 3 points.

Match Play

  1. Matches must be played at Cumbre Padel Club.
  2. The cost of the court is to be split between players.  
  3. Players provide their own balls and agree on a set. If they cannot agree they must use a new set of balls and spilt the cost.
  4. Matches will be best of 3 sets, 2 full sets with a tie break and a super tie break as a deciding set, if required.
  5. The ‘Golden Point’ must be used throughout the match.
  6. If a team does not complete the match due to injury, the opposing team will be deemed as winners of the match and awarded 3 points.

Finals Weekends

  1. At the end of the ladder season the top eight in each of the leagues will move forward to a finals weekend tournament
    1. Ladies – 8th & 9th November
    2. Men – 15th & 16th November
    3. Mix – 22nd & 23rd November
  2. The finals weekend tournament will see the quarter and semi-finals on the Saturday with the final being played on the Sunday.
  3. Quarter final games will be decided on the following based on the teams positions in the ladder
    1. 1 v 8
    2. 2 v 7
    3. 3 v 6
    4. 4 v 5
  4. Quarter and semi-finals will be 2 sets and a super tie break if required
  5. Finals will be 3 full sets
  6. A team will not be eligible for the finals weekend if they have not completed at least 7 ladder games.
  7. An entry fee of €5 will be paid by each player for the finals weekend tournament
  8. Should bad weather cause a finals weekend cancelation it will be moved to the following weekend or 29th November

Admin

  1. The Padel Ladder is administered by the committee at the North Costa Blanca Padel Club.
  2. A WhatsApp™ Ladder group will be set up with all the contact numbers.
  3. The Ladder Administrators will update the WhatsApp™ Ladder groups.
  4. Teams must send the match results to the WhatsApp™ Ladder group as soon as possible after the match.
  5. Any doubts or questions must be send to the Ladder Admin, who will handle it.
